Chang also stopped one of his meds permanently. He had us stop his blood pressure med to try to figure out why he's coughing so much, though I think it could be allergies or asthma. So right now he's only on baby aspirin. It's really odd only giving him half an aspirin in the am. We are used to 3 meds am and 2 pm. When he was first home from the hospital it was 6 am 2 afternoon 4 pm. He's so happy he doesn't have to take the yucky ones. He'll have to get back on blood pressure meds in a week or so. But right now it's a strange but nice change.
That's all I know. And here's a pic from the appt. Love to all!
Chris is too cool in mom's sunglasses!
Yay for Christopher! He looks so suave in those glasses! We love you guys! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHoorah for Chris he's a strong trooper and Praise the Lord, a breather for you all!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO glad that he is doing so good!! I loved seeing his scar, gives me an idea of what to expect for Owen!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Liz and Auntie Pattie. sian no way!!!!! unless he has to have his chest open for a week and have a pacemaker, and have tons of tubes in his lungs, and a thoracotamy...his scar should be a little, thin, pale 6 inch line that will fade quickly. Christopher has had 2 open heart surgeries, his first one his chest had to stay open for 7 days before closing. That caused the scar to take forever to heal, plus 4 months later they reopened it. Also, he had areas on his incision that tore because he was so small he didn't have fat or muscle tissue to hold his stitches together. I had to literally pack a hole with saline, silvadene, and gauze every day for a month or two. Chris' scars are some of the worse I've seen. I really hope Owen's scar heals a heck of a lot better than Chris'. I try not to draw too much attention to it, especially with him being 3 and more observant now. He has said things like, 'when I get big, my heart will be all fixed', and 'why doesn't ty have an owie?' It's tough trying to explain that his heart will never be whole. He can't just have it fixed. He is missing so much of what a normal heart has, his heart will never be 'all better'. I am glad Owen seems to be doing well. It is a very overwhelming experience. Most little ones thrive after their surgeries. be sure to keep us posted!
